Seabirds can sometimes be annoying. They’ll eat your bait and often find themselves caught up in your line when they do. The biggest bird that I’ve caught by accident while fishing has been a pelican. Luckily for me, I was on a sportboat when this happened, and let the deckhand deal with untangling and releasing the bird.

Recently, commercial fisherman doing some sportfishing in British Columbia accidentally caught a bird. Instead of snaring a seagull or pelican, though, they’d snagged a bald eagle. They were able to untangle the bird fairly easily, but it’s wings were soaked and it couldn’t fly away. Watch this amazing video to find out what they did next to successfully release this great bird.
